THURSDAY, JUNE 11, 2009 (AP) Police in Michigan say a man who held up a gas station left behind a major clue _ a piece of paper bearing a name and address. Police said they went to the address and arrested a 42-year-old suspect. The holdup took place Tuesday at a Speedway station in the Grand Rapids suburb of Kentwood. Sounds like the kind of guy who sits on the House Appropriations Committee.
From AFP: Lucknow - Colleges in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh said on Wednesday that female students would be banned from wearing jeans and other Western clothes to halt sexual harassment by male classmates. "Girls who choose to wear jeans will be expelled from the college," Meeta Jamal, principal of the Dayanand girls' college in Kanpur city told AFP. "This is the only way to stop crime against women." A bit medieval, don't you think? By the way, sexual harassment in India is known as "Eve-teasing."
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 2009 MONROE, Wash., June 9 (UPI) -- A Washington state appeals judge tossed a woman's claim that honking her horn for prolonged intervals in front of a neighbor's house is protected free speech. If she'd been honking at Rush Limbaugh, the ACLU would be outraged by the decision.
None dare call it Littlegate, but it is.
